Lockdown - Day 101

Week 25; 20 June 2020 - Abu Hassania

The last time I checked on the Golden-backed Weaver's was during my lockdown walks. This time I took my car to check on their progress.

This morning there were 4 birds present, two of each sex and now 10 nests had been built. The female was a little elusive

but when she showed both males, who are now sporting their summer plumage, competed for her attention. Luckily for the males, their is an adjacent Palm Tree, which they use for their nests - so not far to fly at all...

I will continue to monitor their breeding progress over the summer...
