Back to the Pivot Fields

Week 40 - 09 October 2011, Pivot Fields

I have re-located my Birding Kuwait Blog from http://www.hawar-islands.com/blog/14_stub.php (but please do still visit this site, as it has 5-years archives, many hundreds of images to give a sense of what can be seen through the year in Kuwait as well as annual bird reports)

I spent a brief 2-hours at Pivot Fields from the morning seeing much of the same as I did the previous day.

A soaring Greater Spotted Eagle passed by overhead

Greater Spotted Eagle (Aquila clanga)
Again, many Steppe Buzzards were present - this one was particulary obliging after it tried to catch something in the long grass

Steppe Buzzard (Buteo b. vulpinus)

Before heading home, I found this Daurian/Turkestan Shrike preening in the shade
