Heat and humidity in the South

Week 33, 14 August 2013 - Sabah Al Ahmad Sea City (Click to enlarge image)

I was back down at Sea City and this time spent most of the time on the boat, both on the lagoons and off-shore.

On the way to site, I had a single Isabelline Wheatear sitting in the shade of an Acacia Tree

Barn Swallow numbers are still down, but this will change over the coming weeks.

Out on the lagoons, I found a mixed flock of Little Stints

Little Stint (Calidris minuta)
and good numbers of Ruddy Turnstone

Of course a visit off-shore produced around 18 Socotra Cormorants and more adult birds than I have seen in previous years.
