A slow drive to Jahra

Week 04; 26 January 2018 - Sulaibikhat, JEO and JPR

Had a decent game of tennis and after a breakfast headed up the coast again. Stopping at the outfall in Sulaibikhat where there were hundred's of Black-headed Gulls. I quite like the serenity and poise of this Grey Heron in the mayhem of Gulls

Grey Heron (Ardea cinerea)

Whilst a Indian Reef Heron chose a different spot away from the maddening crowd

Dark form Indian Reef Heron (Egretta g. schistacea)

Next stop was Jahra East, where only a Eurasian Curlew was seen as the tide was way out.

Eurasian Curlew (Numenius arquata)

A Jahra Pools I watched the antics of this young Long-legged Buzzard on this pile of sticks. I thought it was trying to catch something under the pile, but it seemed to have a jesse on one leg that caused it to jump in fright every now and then

Long-legged Buzzard (Buteo rufinus)
